This site has a lot of great web quests and lesson plans for wide variety of age groups. In addition to lesson plans, there is a link for a videoconferencing listserv that you could join, or you can browse through an extensive archive of past messages. There is also a link for “Filamentality,” which is an easy way of making a web quest, scavenger hunt or other online activity for your class. There are also links for workshops and how to find grant money.

This website is managed by Stevens Institute to promote collaborative studies in science and math around the world. Most projects have published start and end dates but a few are ongoing. The projects have links to national curriculum standards as well as state standards for New Jersey, New York, Arizona, Ohio and Florida.

This website contains a lot of technology education articles that are very interesting from Internet safety to when to introduce computers in the classroom. There are links on blogging to streaming video to technology tools. This is a fabulous website but you could end up spending hours checking out all the resources!

This website tracks the adventures of various people as they travel the world. Lots of pictures and detailed accounts are posted. This is a great resource for a Geography or Social Studies course.

This is a great research page for searching. Not only does it explain how to search, it give examples with what to type in the search bar and what type of results you will receive.

This site provides year round collaborative activities for classes primarily for children 10–15 years old. Teachers can do as many for as few of the topics they wish. The topics cover a wide variety of subjects, such as language arts, geography, technology, and research skills.
Monster Exchange

This program is for Kindergarteners to 8 th graders. It promotes reading, writing and technology. Classes are paired up. Groups of students in each class design monsters and then have to communicate to the other class via their descriptions. They then have to redraw the other classes’ monsters as per the descriptions. Everything is scanned uploaded onto the Internet and the classes can see how accurate they were in communicating their ideas.
