Internet.

Objectives:
-Students will do an
in-depth study and analysis of an artist of their choosing.
-They will work in groups on a webquest and find out what
itŐs like to be this artist by gathering information on the artistŐs life,
career and place in history.
-Students will teach students from other groups about their
artist by creating a personal web page as if the artists created it themselves.

historical responses affect the evolution of various artistic styles, trends
and movements in art forms from classicism to post-modernism.

Anticipatory Set/Introduction:
Talk about what the differences are
between the lifestyles of the past and the modern times as they pertain to
artists. What advantages did they have over us? (More time, less distractions)
What advantages do we have? Better technology and tools. Better and faster
communication.
Discuss good online research sources.
Discuss the emergence of online communities and what the www has done for the
business end of art. Talk about famous artists and try to imagine what their
page will look like.
Procedure:
The procedure is in the webquest. In a
nutshell, they will work in groups with specific tasks to compile a complete
profile of an artist of their choosing.
They will then take on the role of the artist and create a
personal web profile page so that other students can learn about their artist.
Final Project:
Create a personal profile on an online
community such as myspace.com or wetcanvas.com
