Intro

This project started at the very first Integrating Technology class and ended at the very last class.  During this time, I’ve learned a lot more about computers, how to more effectively use them, how to research information online, and how to effectively use technology as part of the teaching process (there’s so much one can do).

The first project was to put together and format a teaching philosophy.  I thoroughly enjoyed this project because it made me reflect on how I would like to be as an educator and it allowed me to be creative with the layout of my philosophy.

By attending class and going through the weekly postings, I found out about many websites designed to help teachers put together tests and rubrics and research information.

The assignments were very interesting because they made me directly apply the knowledge I was constantly gaining in class.  For my Media Review, I chose to talk about Finale, which is a music notation program.  The review made me further think about how to use it as an efficient and helpful teaching tool.

For my CP Presentation, I put together a little project for music class using Finale.  So far I’ve used Finale for my personal needs but it was exciting to think of making it part of a teaching project.  In my project, students will put in action not only their music theory knowledge, but also their creativity as they compose their own music.

My experience in this class this semester has certainly given me several computer and teaching skills, which will certainly make teaching and learning a more effective and powerful experience for me and my future students.
