Back to Kurt's pictures

I lived in Durango, Colorado from about 1982 until 1992. While there I learned the basics of 35 mm photography and took advantage of the spectacular scenery to capture some. Recently, while looking through boxes of stuff, I came across the photos and scanned a few. Here is a sample.
Near Dunton, Colorado (W. of Durango near Cortez). El Diente Peak (14,159 ft.). High mountain meadow.

Durango, Animas River Valley, the La Platas and San Juan Rockies beyond.

Different season, nearly the same shot. Missionary Ridge rises in the valley above Durango. In preparation for tailings removal, the last smokestack from the old smelter was brought down, just south of downtown.
Mountains above Lime Creek, north of Durango, during the early fall. Up Junction Creek, Northwest of Durango, early fall.
The La Platas from Junction Creek Road.

Taken March 2000, during a trip back out west, this is a digital image of the Animas Valley from Florida Mesa. A big one, 1280x960px but not too large, only 169k.

That's all folks.
