Academic Search Premier - Interdisciplinary full-text database provides indexing for more than 8,100 journals, with full text for nearly 4,500 of those titles. Human Relations Area Files: Collection of Ethnography (Electronic HRAF) - Full-text database containing more than a quarter of a million pages of descriptive information on the cultures of the world. The full-text materials are subject-indexed at the paragraph-level for precise retrieval of information on all aspects of cultural and social life. Searches on topics related to social deviance and deviant behavior will usually yield documents from several different cultures, making this resource especially useful for comparative work.
JSTOR Arts and Sciences Collection - Large full-text archive of over 300 prestigious journals in a variety of disciplines, with many key social science research journals included. Keep in mind this current issues of journals - especially those published in the last 2-3 years - cannot be found in JSTOR.
LEXIS-NEXIS Academic - Full-text database contains a large newspaper archive that can be very useful for gathering information on contemporary deviants in the news. Local newspaper coverage in a given state or country, along with national press coverage of high-profile stories and individuals, can provide biographical detail, community reaction, editorial opinion, etc. The "Legal Research" section of the database also provides access to articles from law reviews - scholarly journal in the law - containing legal perspectives on deviance.
Social Science Abstracts (in Wilson OmniFile) - Bibliographic and full-text database provides access to over 625 periodicals in all areas of the social sciences, with full-text access to approximately 215 titles. [1983-Present]
Sociological Abstracts - This bibliographic database is the best place to look for scholarly research articles on topics in sociology. Over 635,000 records cover journals and other publications in sociology from 1963 to the present. In many cases, recent articles in the database may be available online; consult our E-Journals directory for availability.
Women's Studies International - This bibliographic database covers the core disciplines in Women’s Studies to the latest scholarship in feminist research. Subject coverage includes sociology, history, political science and economy, public policy, international relations, arts and humanities, business and education.
