Course Objectives

As part of the University's General Education curriculum, the West and the Modern World has the following five student performance objectives:

• To effectively express oneself in written and oral form.
• To think critically.
• To locate and use information.
• To integrate knowledge and ideas in a coherent and meaningful manner.
• To work effectively with others.

Students will meet these objectives through written assignments, active participation in discussion sections, and satisfactory performance on exams and quizzes.
