Members of the Student Public Relations Association (SPRA) at William Paterson University share and build professional skills by creating and implementing real public relations campaigns and via networking opportunities with working PR professionals. The mission is to serve the William Paterson University community by forming mutually beneficial relationships with campus groups. The Association creates public relations programs for select causes and issues of interest to WPU students, faculty and staff and provides public relations services to select campus clubs and organizations. The group hosts industry leaders to speak about relevant public relations and corporate communication issues. Students from all majors are welcome to join. Membership is open to all William Paterson University students, regardless of major. We meet in Hobart Hall twice per week to best accommodate student schedules.
Produced by members of the Student Public Relations Association at William Paterson University, the Report aims to share PR knowledge and resources with the WPU community at large. The Report is published every semester. We welcome submissions from students, faculty and area business leaders.
Any campus organization may request public relations services from SPRA. Due to the volume of applications we receive, the SPRA may not be able to fulfill all requests. However, we will respond to each organization in a timely manner. An application is available on this Web Site.
SPRA was recognized with the 2007 SGA Pioneer Award for the organization that contributed most greatly in its first year on campus.
Throughout the school year the SPRA holds several events to support campus organizations. We also select a cause to promote each year.
