Fill out the on-line form, or e-mail homepage@stc.wpunj.edu with these items:

Name:
Soc. Security #:
Major:
Are you a faculty member or student?
Are you familiar with FTP?
Desired password:

Your account will usually be activated within 1-3 days along with an e-mail confirmation. Your username will be your last name plus your first initial (ex: MillerS). Your password is arbitrarily chosen.

How do I go about getting my web page link to appear on Euphrates?

E-mail homepage@stc.wpunj.edu one more time when you're ready for a link to appear on the corresponding index. This final e-mail should include your name, whether your page is a student/club/faculty page, and the complete URL.

What's the Internet address, or URL, of my web page?

If you're a student, the URL will look like the following for the user, "Steve Miller":

http://euphrates.wpunj.edu/students/millerS

If you're a faculty member, the URL for a personal page will look like the following for the professor, "John Smith":

http://euphrates.wpunj.edu/faculty/smithJ

or, for a Chemistry course page--

http://euphrates.wpunj.edu/courses/chem160

If you're creating a page for a club, the URL will look like this:

http://euphrates.wpunj.edu/clubs/sba

Your logon will usually be identical to your directory name (last name, first initial of your first name).

What if I already have a web page on another host and just want a link on Euphrates?

The process is the same as if you were using our server. Create an account using the on-line account maker, your account will be created and your link will be made. If on a later date you wish to change over to our server, your account will already be set up.

How much space do I have on Euphrates?

Each student and faculty gets 15MB for their personal web pages. If you go over this limit, you will be notified via E-mail and asked to lower or compress the amount of graphics/multimedia content on your page.

Can a campus club or organization page be hosted on Euphrates?

Yes, but the person actually creating the page must fill out a Euphrates Account Application.

Why am I getting a "Directory Listing Denied" error when I go to my page URL?

This is usually caused by not naming your first page "default.htm". Try renaming your first page to this.

Can other users get into my FTP directory and change my page?

No. Users only have access to their directory. All other directories are not accessible.

Can I access my Euphrates account at home?

If you already have Internet access and an FTP client, then yes. The procedure you would use to upload your web page will be identical to the procedure outlined in the FTP information page.
