XI CHAPTER

In the fall semester of 1991, a group of men gathered together in search of an organization with high standards, respectable values and commitment to the community and Latino issues.

It was within that same semester that a Lambda Theta Phi Brother named Julio Duran had just transferred from Stockton State to William Paterson College (now University). Shortly after his arrival, an informational meeting was held, in order to enlighten the many minds that had inquired about Lambda Theta Phi. Within the semester, an Interest Group was formed. From that Interest Group, 7 completed the process and became The Founding Brothers of Xi Chapter.

The birth of Xi Chapter at William Paterson University came about on March 8, 1992. Since that time, thirty-four additional men have crossed into "The Mountains of Alcatraz" bringing the total to 41 Xi Chapter Brothers.

Lambda Theta Phi is very active at William Paterson University. We have brothers who are members of The Organization of Latin American Students. Also, we are part of the WPUNJ Greek Senate and The United Cultural Greek Council.

We have a very professional relationship with the other greeks on campus and always look forward to working with them to enhance our school and better the community. For example, every year we have an Aids Walk on campus. Also, on Route 19 North and South you can see the chapter's Adopt-A-Highway-Spot.

Brothers from the chapter have gone on to become Policemen, Social Workers, Teachers, Firemen, National Guardmen, Naval Officers, Biologists, Consultants, Emergeny Room Technicians, Computer Technicians, etc.

Alumni Brothers from the chapter are very active in the fraternity. Many Brothers from Xi Chapter have served as the undergraduate chapter brothers alumni advisor. Alumni brothers also serve the fraternity as a whole by holding positions on Lambda Theta Phi Sector Boards and have even gone on to serve on
the National Board of our fraternity. Lambda Theta Phi is a way of life and is truly "Until the day we die".

Xi Chapter...Celebrating 13 years of Fuerza, Unity and Respect at William Paterson University...Our best is yet to come.
